Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Visit Haryana on October 3, Inaugurate Key Projects Worth ₹825 Crore

Chandigarh, October 2: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will be on a one-day visit to Haryana on October 3, with programmes scheduled in Rohtak and Kurukshetra. His visit is expected to bring several new initiatives aimed at boosting cooperative development, rural industries, and infrastructure in the state.

According to an official spokesperson, Shah will inaugurate the newly constructed Sabarkantha Dairy plant at IMT Rohtak, built at a cost of ₹325 crore. The facility, touted as India’s largest production unit for curd, buttermilk, and yogurt, will generate nearly 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. The plant has a daily capacity of 150 metric tonnes of curd, 3 lakh litres of buttermilk, 10 lakh litres of yogurt, and 10 metric tonnes of sweets.

Later in Rohtak, Shah will also attend the Khadi Artisans’ Festival at Maharshi Dayanand University, where he will distribute tool kits to 2,200 artisans. Organized under the theme “Swadeshi se Swavalamban” (From Indigenous to Self-Reliance), the event is supported by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission under the Ministry of MSME. The minister will distribute modern tool kits, release ₹301 crore in PMEGP margin money, and inaugurate new Khadi Gramodyog Bhavans, a central wool unit, and PMEGP enterprises.

In Kurukshetra, Shah will inaugurate an exhibition on India’s new criminal laws, designed to highlight recent reforms introduced to modernize the justice system. The five-day exhibition will help advocates, students, parents, and citizens understand the transformation in criminal justice, focusing on transparency, speed, and technology-driven processes. Spread across ten sections, the exhibition will also showcase the roles of seven different departments.

The spokesperson highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated these reforms to ensure justice that is timely, accessible, and transparent. The new laws replace colonial-era penal codes, aiming to make the justice system more citizen-friendly and efficient.

During his Kurukshetra programme, Shah will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of projects worth nearly ₹825 crore, which include major infrastructure and welfare schemes. Officials said these initiatives will not only accelerate Haryana’s development but also create new employment opportunities, strengthening the state’s economic and social fabric.
