Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Unveil Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Statue in Panchkula on December 24: CM Nayab Saini

Chandigarh, December 12: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will unveil a 41-foot-tall statue of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Atal Park, MDC Sector-1, Panchkula on December 24, the eve of Vajpayee’s birth anniversary. Shah will also attend multiple programs scheduled in Panchkula on the same day.

The Chief Minister inspected the arrangements at Atal Park ahead of the event and briefed the media. Haryana BJP President Mohan Lal Badoli was also present during the inspection.

Saini said that after unveiling the metal statue, Amit Shah will inaugurate a mega blood donation camp at Atal Park. Later, he will visit the exhibition at the Haryana BJP headquarters, ‘Panchkamal’. The Home Minister will then proceed to Tau Devi Lal Sports Stadium in Sector-3 to review the passing-out parade of 5,000 police personnel. Shah will also be the chief guest at the ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ event later that day.

Addressing questions about the Congress Party’s allegations of vote tampering in Parliament, CM Saini said the opposition has run out of real issues and is attempting to mislead the public with false claims. He added that Rahul Gandhi’s remarks undermine constitutional institutions and that Congress has no political future in India for the next 40–50 years.

On another question about security, the Chief Minister said that ensuring citizens’ safety is the police department’s foremost duty. Strict instructions have been issued to police officials to act vigilantly, and the department assesses each individual’s security needs as required.

Discussing healthcare, Saini reiterated that providing accessible medical facilities to every citizen is a top priority of the government. He noted that under the Ayushman/Chirayu Yojana, pending surgical cases were recently cleared through a special drive. The government, he added, continues to address doctors’ concerns and has introduced additional incentives to support them.

The event was also attended by former Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary (Urban and Village Planning) A.K. Singh, Commissioner and Secretary of Information, Public Relations, and Industries Departments Dr. Amit Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, and Additional Director (Administration) Varsha Khangwal.
