GST Revamp to Ease Financial Load on Farmers, Says Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Chandigarh: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is scheduled to arrive in Punjab on Thursday to assess the situation in flood-affected regions.

Taking to social media, Chouhan said he had held detailed discussions with the state’s Governor, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, and Punjab’s Agriculture Minister regarding the large-scale damage caused by continuous heavy rains.

The Minister stated that he will personally visit the flood-affected villages to meet local residents and review relief operations. “In this difficult time, the Central Government stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Punjab and will extend every possible support,” his post read.

Punjab has been grappling with widespread flooding for weeks, leaving hundreds of villages submerged, farmland devastated, and thousands displaced. Relief and rehabilitation measures are underway as state and central agencies coordinate efforts to restore normalcy.
