Abu Dhabi/Tokyo, May 22, 2025: In a significant diplomatic initiative, the United Arab Emirates and Japan have expressed strong solidarity with India in its fight against terrorism. This comes as part of India’s global outreach following Operation Sindoor, aimed at garnering international support against cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan.
A multi-party Indian delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha met with Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya in Tokyo. Iwaya conveyed Japan’s unwavering stance against terrorism, stating that it cannot be justified in any form, and extended condolences to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Simultaneously, another delegation headed by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde engaged with UAE officials, including Minister of Tolerance Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Defence Committee Chairman Ali Al Nuaimi, in Abu Dhabi. Al Nuaimi emphasized the global threat of terrorism and the necessity for international collaboration to combat it.
These delegations are part of India’s broader diplomatic campaign involving seven multi-party teams visiting 33 countries. The objective is to highlight Pakistan’s role in supporting terrorism and to assert India’s right to self-defense.
The initiative underscores India’s commitment to a united domestic front against terrorism, transcending political affiliations. BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi remarked that the outreach aims to present a cohesive national stance and counter misinformation propagated by Pakistan.
