Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir (Rajeev Sharma): In a swift response to a cross-border threat, the Indian Army neutralised two terrorists during a failed infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Saturday.
The Chinar Corps, headquartered in Srinagar, stated that the operation was triggered after intelligence agencies reported unusual movement in the Keran sector on Friday. Troops on high alert detected the suspicious activity and challenged the infiltrators, prompting them to open fire.
“Security forces responded effectively, neutralising two terrorists. Operations and searches in the area are ongoing to ensure complete security,” the Army said in a post on X.
No casualties among soldiers were reported during the encounter. Authorities said the identities and affiliations of the terrorists are yet to be ascertained.
Kupwara remains a sensitive region along the LoC, and this operation highlights the Army’s continued vigilance to prevent infiltration and safeguard the border areas.
