Two Injured as Pressure Cooker Explodes Inside Ludhiana Home, Damages Kitchen Wall

Gurpreet Singh :- Panic gripped Guru Tegh Bahadur Colony on Chandigarh Road in Ludhiana after a pressure cooker exploded inside a residential kitchen, leaving two persons seriously injured and causing extensive damage to the house.

According to local residents, the incident occurred while family members were preparing a meal in the kitchen. During cooking, pressure reportedly built up inside the cooker, leading to a powerful explosion. The blast was so intense that a section of the kitchen wall collapsed, while the loud sound sent shockwaves through the neighbourhood.

The two occupants present in the kitchen sustained severe burn injuries and were trapped amid the debris and scattered household items. Neighbours rushed to the spot immediately after hearing the explosion and helped rescue the injured persons before shifting them to a nearby civil hospital for treatment.

Doctors said the injured were undergoing medical care, while their condition was being closely monitored.

Police teams reached the scene soon after receiving information about the incident and initiated an investigation. Officials inspected the damaged portion of the house and are examining the exact circumstances that led to the explosion.

The incident has sparked concern among residents of the locality, many of whom gathered outside the house following the blast. Authorities have urged people to follow safety precautions while using pressure cookers and other kitchen appliances to prevent such accidents.
