Two Associates of Landa Harike Arrested in Joint Police Operation

Tarn Taran (Gurpreet Singh): Punjab’s crackdown on gangster-terror networks continued as the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Tarn Taran Police jointly arrested two close aides of foreign-based terrorist Lakhvir Singh alias Landa Harike.

The men in custody have been identified as Vikramjit Singh, also known as Vicky, and Harpreet Singh, also known as Prince. Police teams also seized two pistols (.32 bore and .315 bore) along with nine live cartridges during the operation.

According to officials, Vikramjit Singh had been absconding since March 2024, when he was booked in an attempt to murder case at Jhabal police station. He had been declared a proclaimed offender. His associate, Ajaypal alias Mota, was nabbed earlier this year after an armed clash with police.

Investigations suggest that both Vicky and Prince are repeat offenders, with multiple criminal cases against them, including those under the Arms Act, NDPS Act, and for violent crimes such as attempted murder and snatching. Police said their capture has shed light on several pending cases linked to gangster modules.

The Punjab Police leadership has emphasized that dismantling the nexus between organised crime and terrorism remains a top priority. Interrogation of the duo is expected to provide more information about their handlers and the wider network.
