Two Arrested with Pistols and Live Cartridge in Gurdaspur, Including Engineering Student

Gurdaspur, March 20 – Gurdaspur City Police and the Special Wing Police arrested two suspects, including an engineering student, and recovered two pistols, two magazines, and a live cartridge from them.

DSP City Mohan Singh informed the media that Sub-Inspector Gurvinder Singh from the Special Team and City Police set up a checkpoint near Trehan Petrol Pump on Jail Road. When two young men appeared suspicious, the police stopped them for questioning. The suspects identified themselves as Harkirat Singh, son of Pargat Singh, resident of Fish Park, Gurdaspur, and Nitish Ganwaria, son of Tarlok Kumar, resident of Berian Mohalla, Gurdaspur. Upon searching them, the police recovered two pistols, two magazines, and a live cartridge.

Harkirat Singh is currently a first-year engineering student at a local college, while Nitish Kumar is unemployed. The police plan to present both suspects in court to seek remand for further questioning. Investigators aim to determine the source of the weapons and their intended use.

DSP Mohan Singh was accompanied by City Police Station in-charge Inspector Gurmeet Singh and Special Branch in-charge Sub-Inspector Gurvinder Singh.
