Mississauga/Delta (National Times): Peel Regional Police have announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of 51-year-old Harjeet Singh Dhadda, a Brampton resident who was killed in Mississauga on May 14.
The shooting occurred at approximately 11:49 a.m. in a parking lot near Tranmere Drive and Telford Way. Dhadda was approached and shot multiple times in broad daylight before succumbing to his injuries at a nearby hospital. The suspects fled the scene in a stolen black 2018 Dodge Challenger, which was quickly located and recovered by police.
Following an extensive investigation by the Homicide Bureau, police identified two 21-year-old men from Delta, British Columbia, Aman Aman and Digvijay Digvijay, as the primary suspects. With the coordinated assistance of Delta Police, Abbotsford Police, Surrey Police, and the RCMP, both individuals were arrested in Delta on May 28.
The suspects were initially brought before a Justice in Surrey and subsequently transferred to Ontario in the custody of the British Columbia Sheriff Service. They are now facing charges of first-degree murder and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing on June 1.
Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah commended the successful multi-agency operation. “This arrest is a testament to the unwavering perseverance and diligence of our homicide investigators,” he stated. “Despite the suspects’ efforts to evade capture, our teams remained focused and relentless. This outcome sends a clear message: no matter how far you run, our teams will find you.”
