AAP MLA Raman Arora Arrested in Corruption Case After Vigilance Raid in Jalandhar

Bathinda, May 10, 2025 — Two powerful explosions rocked the area near the Bathinda Air Force Station on Saturday morning, triggering panic among residents. The loud blasts prompted locals to rush out of their homes in fear. Security forces swiftly responded by sealing all entry gates of the base and alerting the police, who immediately launched an investigation. Eyewitnesses reported hearing two distinct explosions, followed by the sound of warning sirens.

Security Heightened Across Bathinda
In response, the military cordoned off the area and began closely monitoring for suspicious activity. The Deputy Commissioner of Bathinda has declared a red alert across the district. Citizens have been urged to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary and to follow safety protocols. Authorities confirmed that while electricity supply will remain unaffected, strict security measures are now in effect.

Previous Night Also Saw Explosions
This incident follows a series of loud blasts heard late Thursday night. In Tungwali village, shockwaves damaged windows and doors of houses. Villagers in Beed Talab, Burj Mahma, and surrounding rural areas discovered metallic debris in fields resembling bomb fragments, which were later secured by army personnel.

According to local accounts, the Thursday night explosions occurred around 10:45 PM, accompanied by flashes in the sky and loud booms. The events have created a tense atmosphere, although residents are cooperating with security forces.

Terror Angle Under Investigation
While no official conclusion has been drawn yet, authorities are not ruling out a possible terrorist angle. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other intelligence units have been placed on alert. Bomb disposal squads and forensic teams are on-site collecting evidence.

The situation in Bathinda remains sensitive, with the army and civil administration maintaining high vigilance. Citizens have been asked to stay calm and await official updates as the investigation continues.
