TSB Continues Analysis of 2025 Toronto Plane Crash Ahead of One-Year Mark

Toronto (Rajeev Sharma): The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has shared an update on its investigation into the Delta Air Lines crash at Toronto Pearson International Airport, days before the first anniversary of the incident.

The accident occurred on February 17, 2025, when an Endeavor Air flight arriving from Minnesota crashed at Pearson and came to rest inverted after skidding along the runway. A total of 21 passengers were taken to hospital following the incident.

In its latest update released Thursday, the TSB said investigators have completed a comprehensive metallurgical examination of the aircraft wreckage and are now conducting a detailed technical analysis.

The agency also confirmed that data from the aircraft’s onboard systems — including cockpit voice recordings and flight data recorders — has been successfully retrieved and reviewed.

Officials emphasized that the investigation is classified as a Class 2 occurrence and remains ongoing. “It is too early to draw conclusions regarding the causes or contributing factors of the accident,” the TSB said.

The board noted that a final report will be issued once the investigation is complete. If any critical safety concerns are identified during the process, regulators and aviation industry stakeholders will be notified promptly so that corrective action can be taken.
