Trump Says Denying Him Nobel Prize Would Shame the Nation

QUANTICO, VA (Rajeev Sharma): US President Donald Trump has asserted that failing to award him the Nobel Peace Prize would be a national embarrassment, citing what he described as his unmatched record in resolving global conflicts, including a new initiative to bring an end to the war in Gaza.

Addressing military officials at a gathering in Quantico on Tuesday, Trump claimed that his efforts have led to the resolution of seven international disputes and that his recently announced Gaza peace plan could soon mark an eighth. “I think we’ve figured it out. Hamas just needs to agree — and if they don’t, it won’t be easy for them,” he said. “Israel is on board. The Arab world agrees. It’s a rare moment of unity.”

The former president framed the peace efforts as historic, saying no one else has achieved such diplomatic progress in so short a time. Yet, he expressed skepticism that he would be recognized for it. “Will I get the Nobel Prize? Of course not,” Trump said. “They’ll hand it to someone who hasn’t solved anything — maybe someone who just writes about the things we’ve done.”

He went on to suggest that if the Nobel Committee overlooks his contributions, it wouldn’t just be a personal slight, but a stain on the country’s honor. “That would be a disgrace for the United States,” Trump said. “I’m not asking for it for myself. I want it for the nation — because this is something no one thought was possible.”

As he touted his diplomatic track record, Trump described the string of agreements as “remarkable,” adding, “It’s an honor to have brought eight deals together. I don’t say that lightly. I’ve made more deals than anyone — that’s a fact.”
