Tilak Varma Shines, Rinku Singh Seals It as India Claim Record 9th Asia Cup

Dubai, September 28, 2025: India secured its record ninth Asia Cup crown with a dramatic victory over Pakistan in the 2025 final at the Dubai International Stadium. The Men in Blue chased down a target of 147, crossing the finish line with two balls to spare thanks to Tilak Varma’s steady hand and Rinku Singh’s heroics.

Pakistan appeared well-placed at 113 for one but collapsed spectacularly to 146 all out in 19.1 overs. The Indian bowling unit turned the tide, with Kuldeep Yadav leading the way by picking up four wickets for 30 runs. Support from Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah ensured Pakistan’s middle order faltered under pressure.

India’s reply was far from smooth. Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav fell cheaply, while Sanju Samson added 24 before being dismissed. Shivam Dube provided momentum with a quick 33 off 22 deliveries, but the innings revolved around Tilak Varma. Calm and composed, he anchored the chase with an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls, striking three fours and four sixes when it mattered most.

The tension peaked in the final over as India required one run from the last three deliveries. Rinku Singh, facing his very first ball of the tournament, ended the contest in style with a boundary, finishing 4 not out and sparking jubilant celebrations.

With this triumph, India not only lifted the 2025 Asia Cup but also cemented its status as the tournament’s most successful team, winning the prestigious title for the ninth time.
