Teenager Related to Former MLA Killed in Jalandhar Stabbing

Jalandhar (Gurpreet Singh): Jalandhar was rocked by a violent incident on Friday night when a 16-year-old boy, related to former MLA and BJP leader Sheetal Angural, lost his life after being stabbed in the Basti Danishmandan area. The incident took place in Shivaji Nagar following a heated dispute, according to preliminary information.

The victim, identified as Vikas, was allegedly attacked by three local youths who were carrying a sharp weapon. After the assault, the attackers reportedly fled, leaving the teenager critically injured on the roadside. Residents rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead due to excessive blood loss.

Sheetal Angural reached the scene soon after the incident and suggested that the killing was linked to a dispute involving drugs. The murder triggered strong reactions from political circles, with BJP general secretary Ashok Sarin condemning the crime and holding the state government responsible. He claimed that unchecked drug circulation in Jalandhar West had contributed to rising violence and criminal activity in the area.

Police teams from Division No. 5 police station have begun an investigation and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby locations to track down those involved. Officials said one of the suspects, identified as Kalu, belongs to the same neighbourhood. Further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and motive behind the attack.
