Tarn Taran Voters Get Fresh Chance to Update Electoral Rolls Ahead of Bye-Poll

Tarn Taran, August 20, 2025: Residents of Tarn Taran will soon get another opportunity to ensure their names are on the voters’ list, as the Election Commission of India has announced a Special Summary Revision of the electoral roll ahead of the upcoming bye-election in the constituency.

The revision will be carried out with July 1, 2025, as the qualifying date, giving eligible residents the chance to enrol, verify, or correct their details before the polls. The process will begin with the rationalization of polling stations by August 28, followed by the publication of the draft roll on September 2. Citizens will then have time until September 17 to file claims or objections. These will be addressed by September 25, and the final electoral roll will be published on September 30.

The Commission has also reached out to political parties in Punjab to share details of the process, underlining its commitment to transparency and inclusivity. Officials stressed that the revision is not just a technical exercise but an effort to ensure that every eligible voter has a voice in the democratic process.

Voters of Tarn Taran are being urged to verify their entries carefully and make use of the correction window. With the bye-election around the corner, officials say accurate and updated rolls will play a crucial role in ensuring fair participation.
