Chandigarh, August 19, 2025: Chandigarh witnessed heavy rainfall on Tuesday afternoon, causing severe waterlogging across the city. Several vehicles were left stranded or partially submerged as roads turned into streams. The sudden downpour disrupted normal life, with rainwater flooding areas from PGI to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.The rainfall, which began around 3 p.m., quickly inundated key city spots. The Rose Garden in Sector-16 was submerged, and the water current spread into the nearby Punjab Kala Bhawan’s parking lot. National Times Bureau :- Several areas in Punjab have been experiencing rainfall since last night, with heavy showers expected in some regions over the next two days. The Chandigarh Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert valid until August 15. In the past 24 hours, the state’s average maximum temperature dropped by 0.6°C, which is 3.5°C below normal. Bathinda recorded the highest temperature at 36.3°C. Patiala also received rainfall, with 8.4 mm measured.
