Udalguri (Assam): A powerful earthquake of 5.8 magnitude struck the northeast on Sunday evening, triggering panic across several states.The quake, recorded at 4.41 pm, had its epicentre in Udalguri district of Assam and a depth of 5 km, officials confirmed.Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on X that there were no reports of major damage or casualties so far. “The epicentre was near Udalguri.
