New Delhi, December 6, 2025: The Indian Railways on Saturday announced an extensive nationwide response to the ongoing disruption caused by mass IndiGo flight cancellations, introducing 84 special trains across multiple zones to assist stranded travellers. These trains will operate 104 trips and were arranged within hours after officials assessed passenger traffic at key hubs, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Patna and Howrah.Dilip Kumar, Executive Director (Information & Publicity) of the Railway Board, said the number of additional services could increase depending on passenger load and real-time movement patterns.
