Chandigarh, August 4, 2025 — The Punjab government is preparing to escalate its war on drugs with the launch of ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh 2.0’, a people-powered initiative aimed at rooting out the menace through grassroots vigilance.In this next phase of the campaign, the government plans to form village-level and ward-level defence committees made up of local citizens. Chandigarh, May 30, 2025: As Punjab's massive crackdown on narcotics under the campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh” completed its 90th day, the state police arrested 103 drug smugglers and seized 3.8 kilograms of heroin along with ₹2.04 lakh in drug money.
