New Delhi/Leh, September 28, 2025: Gitanjali Angmo, wife of detained climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, has categorically denied claims linking him to Pakistan or any financial misconduct, calling the accusations “baseless” and politically motivated.Speaking to PTI, Angmo emphasised that Wangchuk, held under the stringent National Security Act (NSA) following violent protests in Leh on September 24, has consistently pursued Ladakh’s interests through non-violent, Gandhian methods. Ladakh, September 27, 2025: Ladakh Director-General of Police S.D. Singh Jamwal on Saturday confirmed that statehood activist Sonam Wangchuk is being investigated for alleged connections with Pakistan. The development follows last month’s arrest of a Pakistani intelligence operative accused of transmitting videos of Wangchuk’s protests across the border.Wangchuk was detained under the National Security Act (NSA) on Friday and shifted to Jodhpur jail in Rajasthan.
