Amritpal Singh parole rejected: Punjab and Haryana HC dismisses petition to attend Parliament Budget Session

Gurpreet Singh :- The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday dismissed a parole petition filed by Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh. He had sought temporary release on parole to attend the ongoing Budget Session of Parliament. A Bench comprising Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sanjeev Berry declined to grant relief. During the hearing, Amritpal Singh argued that he represents nearly 1.9 million voters and that his continued detention amounts to a denial of democratic representation. National Times Bureau :- The Punjab government has denied parole to Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh who is detained under the National Security Act (NSA) and lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail, to attend the winter session of Parliament from December 1 to 19.  “Deputy commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh has rejected Amritpal’s parole application, citing potential law and order issues after receiving a report from the district police. National Times Bureau :- Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh’s mother Balwinder Kaur was stopped by the immigration authorities at theDelhi airport on Friday moments before she was scheduled to board a flight to Canada. According to family members, she was informed at the airport that a lookout circular (LOC) had been issued against her by Amritsar Rural Police.
