National Times Bureau :- The monsoon has officially withdrawn from Punjab and Haryana, while its presence in Uttarakhand has weakened. Meteorologists expect the system to retreat from Uttarakhand within the next week. For now, only light rainfall is likely in the state. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Punjab received 48% above-average rainfall during this monsoon season. From June 1 to date, the state recorded 621.4 mm of rainfall, against the normal 420.9 mm. Chandigarh (National Times): After weeks of scorching temperatures and growing water concerns, Punjab is finally set to receive the long-awaited relief from the southwest monsoon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has confirmed that monsoon conditions are becoming favourable for further advancement into Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi within the next two days.
