Patna, October 14, 2025 — Popular folk singer Maithili Thakur officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, days before the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The 25-year-old singer was welcomed into the party by state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal during a ceremony held in Patna.After joining, Thakur said she would take on any responsibility assigned by the party.
