Patna, July 17, 2025 — A convicted murderer on parole was shot dead by a group of armed assailants inside the ICU of a private hospital in Patna on Thursday morning, in a chilling attack that has triggered widespread alarm over hospital security and gang rivalries.The victim, 36-year-old Chandan Mishra from Buxar district, was admitted for treatment while on parole from Beur Jail, where he was serving a sentence in a murder case.
