Chandigarh, June 17, 2025 — In a sweeping and relentless crackdown on narcotics, the Punjab Police has marked 108 days of its statewide anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh,” launched under the direction of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The campaign continues to intensify, with 128 more drug smugglers arrested in the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of arrests to a staggering 17,897 since the drive began. Amritsar, May 16, 2025: In the largest drug seizure of the year, Tarn Taran Police have dismantled a significant international narco-smuggling network operated by a UK-based handler and controlled by Pakistan’s ISI. The bust led to the arrest of Amarjot Singh from Jota Sandhu village, Amritsar Rural, and the recovery of 85 kilograms of heroin.The module was reportedly run by a drug trafficker named Lalli, operating from the United Kingdom, in collaboration with Pakistan-based handlers.
