Chandigarh, March 1, 2025: Haryana State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh has announced that all government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions will remain closed on March 2 due to local urban body elections in the state.A notification issued by the Chief Secretary states that under Section 135B of The Representation of the People Act, 1951, employees working in trade, business, industrial establishments, or private institutions, who are voters in these elections, will receive a paid holiday.
