Chandigarh, June 11, 2025: In a major achievement, Punjab recorded its highest-ever electricity demand of 16,711 megawatts (MW) on June 11 and managed to meet the full requirement without resorting to any power cuts. The announcement was made by Power Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO, who credited the seamless supply to efficient planning and coordination by the state power utilities.The new milestone surpasses the previous record of 16,192 MW set just a day earlier, on June 10, 2025.
