Panjab University Hostel Fraud: Rs.60 Lakh Transferred to Former Employee’s Account

National Times Bureau :- A Rs.60 lakh embezzlement case has surfaced at the Dr. Sushil Nayar Working Women Hostel of Panjab University (PU), involving alleged misappropriation of students’ hostel fees. The university administration has filed an FIR, and police have begun an investigation into the matter. Sources confirmed that the inquiry committee formed earlier has already submitted its report. The scam allegedly took place during the tenure of former hostel warden Prof. Avneet Kaur. Two men are facing charges after allegedly stealing around $200,000 from a Calgary cricket league

Calgary, March 13, 2025 ( Rajeev Sharma): According to the Calgary Police Services ( CPS), they began investigating in 2017 when the newly appointed president of the Calgary & District Cricket League (C&DCL) noticed issues with the league’s financial records. After finding a number of discrepancies during an internal review, the league’s  president called reported the concerns to police.
