Mumbai, September 27: Comedian Kapil Sharma was recently targeted with death threats and an extortion demand of ₹1 crore, delivered via phone calls and video messages between September 22 and 23. The accused, Dilip Chaudhary, reportedly invoked the names of notorious gangsters Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar to intimidate the comedian.Acting swiftly, the Mumbai Crime Branch traced Chaudhary to West Bengal and arrested him. He has been brought to Mumbai and will remain in police custody until September 30. Investigators are probing the motive behind the threats and whether the accused has any connections to larger criminal networks.
