Chandigarh, August 18, 2025: Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia suffered a setback today after a local court rejected his bail plea in the disproportionate assets case.Majithia, arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in June, faces allegations of holding benami land and undisclosed properties far beyond his known income. He will remain in judicial custody as the trial continues.While the Akali Dal has termed the case “political vendetta,” the state government insists it is part of its wider anti-corruption campaign.
