Chandigarh, December 19: Haryana’s Revenue, Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Minister Vipul Goel on Thursday said that the present state government has provided compensation worth ₹4,771.89 crore to farmers affected by crop damage, highlighting a sharp contrast with the previous Congress regime.Replying to a question during the Question Hour on the second day of the Haryana Assembly’s winter session, Goel said that between 2005 and 2014, when the Congress was in power, farmers received only ₹1,158 crore as compensation.The minister asserted that the BJP-led government stands with farmers in both times of distress and prosperity.
