Punjab Launches Statewide Screening Drive for Non-Communicable Diseases

Chandigarh, February 20, 2025: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh launched a population-based screening initiative on Thursday to combat common non-communicable diseases (NCDs) across the state.Under this initiative, individuals aged 30 and above will be screened for diabetes, hypertension, and three common cancers—oral, breast, and cervical. The campaign aligns with the National Program for Control of Non-Communicable Diseases and will run until March 31.
