8.6 kg heroin seized

Chandigarh, July 18, 2025 — As Punjab’s ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh” marked its 139th day, police across the state arrested 125 drug smugglers on Friday and seized a significant haul of narcotics. The operation led to the recovery of 8.6 kg of heroin, 500 grams of opium, 151 kg of poppy husk, and ₹11,980 in drug money.The total number of drug smugglers arrested since the campaign began has now reached 22,533.
