Punjab Releases First ₹332 Crore Installment to Boost Rural Development Across State

Chandigarh, November 17, 2025 — The Punjab government has released the first installment of ₹332 crore to accelerate rural development under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema announced that the funds have been directly deposited into the accounts of more than 13,000 Gram Panchayats, 153 Panchayat Samitis and 22 Zila Parishads, marking a significant step towards transparent and decentralised governance in the state.The allocation has been divided into two categories to address local needs more effectively.
