Swati Maliwal Slams AAP After Delhi Election Defeat, Congratulates BJP

New Delhi, February 8, 2025 – As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faces a crushing defeat in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has launched a scathing attack on her own party, attributing its downfall to governance failures and its treatment of women.

“God Punishes Those Who Harm Women”: Maliwal’s Sharp Jibe at AAP

Maliwal, who had earlier accused AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar of assaulting her at the former CM’s residence, made a veiled reference to the incident, stating that divine justice is inevitable for those who commit wrongs against women.

“If we look at history, whenever any wrongdoing happens to a woman, God ensures justice. AAP thought they could deceive people, but their pride has led to their downfall,” she told ANI.

Further criticizing Kejriwal, she remarked, “Even Ravan’s arrogance was shattered, and he was far greater. This is just Arvind Kejriwal.”

Maliwal Lists Reasons Behind AAP’s Defeat

Pointing to key issues plaguing the national capital, Maliwal attributed AAP’s electoral loss to:
✅ Water pollution
✅ Air pollution
✅ Poor infrastructure
✅ Lack of basic amenities

“Delhi has turned into a garbage dump. The air is toxic, the water is unclean, and the roads are crumbling. The AAP leadership forgot its promises and focused on lies instead of governance. That’s why even Kejriwal himself lost his seat,” she asserted.

Congratulates BJP, Hopes for Fulfilling Promises

Despite her criticism of AAP, Maliwal congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on its victory and expressed hope that they would deliver on their promises.

“People have placed their trust in the BJP. They must now ensure they fulfill their commitments and work towards a better Delhi,” she added.

BJP Set to Form Government After 27 Years

With the latest election results, BJP is poised to return to power in Delhi after 27 years. Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the victory as the end of the “rule of lies,” promising a new era of development and trust.

In a post on X, he declared:
“Delhi has freed itself from AAP’s falsehoods and corruption. This mandate sends a strong message to those who deceive the public. The new government will work towards making Delhi a global capital.”

Shah also thanked Delhiites for their support, emphasizing that BJP’s “Modi ki Guarantee” resonated with voters.
