Sports Are Not Just Competitions but a Celebration of Youth Energy and Talent: Minister Krishan Lal Panwar

Chandigarh, October 5: Haryana’s Minister for Development and Panchayats, Krishan Lal Panwar, inaugurated the assembly-level games under the MP Sports Competition at village Phula in Fatehabad’s Ratia constituency on Sunday. The event was chaired by Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala and witnessed participation from players across Ratia, Nagpur, and Fatehabad blocks.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Panwar said the MP Sports Competition is not merely a sporting event but a celebration of the youth’s energy, strength, and talent. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made sports a powerful medium of nation-building through his call — “Khelega Bharat, Khilega Bharat.” Initiatives like Khelo India and Fit India have created a new sporting culture across the country. He noted that the MP Sports Competition 2025 began nationwide on September 21 and will continue at various locations until December 25.

The Minister announced that all 258 villages in Fatehabad district will have concrete pathways up to ten acres in fields. He also pledged ₹21 lakh from the District Council for the stadium work in village Phula, along with the renovation of the village pond, establishment of a women’s Sanskrit center, construction of an indoor gym, and paving of five field roads in the village.

Panwar further stated that the Haryana Olympic Association is organizing large-scale state-level sports competitions after nearly 15 years. These events will be held from November 2 to November 9, 2025, across various districts, and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from Gurugram.

The event was attended by Harko Fed Chairman and MP Sports Festival Convenor Ved Phula, District Council Chairperson Suman Khichar, and a large number of dignitaries, athletes, and local residents.
