“Spiritual Wisdom and Krishna’s Teachings Essential in Modern Life”: Haryana CM Saini

Gurugram, May 16, 2025 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini urged youth to embrace spiritual knowledge and the karmic teachings of Lord Krishna to maintain cultural balance in an age dominated by mobile phones and social media. Speaking at the ‘Shri Krishna Kripa Prerna Utsav’ held in Gurugram’s Leisure Valley, he said modernity should not come at the cost of disconnecting from Indian values.

The event, organized to celebrate the birthday of Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand, saw participation from saints, bhajan singers, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. CM Saini congratulated Swami Gyananand and sought his blessings, calling him a global torchbearer of the Bhagavad Gita’s eternal wisdom.

Saini encouraged the audience, especially youth, to read two shlokas from the Gita whenever they get time. “Whether you become a doctor, engineer, or entrepreneur—carry love and sacrifice in your heart,” he said, emphasizing that Indian culture must be lived, not just studied in books.

Speaking of Operation Sindoor, he declared it a symbol of national pride. Referring to the cowardly attack in Pahalgam, he praised the Indian Army’s swift and bold response across the border. “Under PM Modi’s leadership, this military action showcased India’s resolve and strength,” he said.

Highlighting Haryana’s cultural roots, Saini said Gurugram’s spiritual heritage dates back to Mahabharata times when Guru Dronacharya taught dharma and warfare there. He underlined that while saints preach peace, India has the courage to respond fiercely when its patience is mistaken for weakness.

He also stressed that his government is committed to not only physical development but also spiritual upliftment. “Geeta Mahotsav has been given international stature, and pilgrimage schemes are enabling the elderly to visit sacred sites,” he noted.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta thanked CM Saini for his support and praised Swami Gyananand for spreading Indian culture and the message of the Gita with grace and spiritual power.

The event was also attended by ministers Shyam Singh Rana, Krishan Kumar Bedi, Rajesh Nagar, BJP state president Mohan Lal Kaushik, and other dignitaries.
