Speaker Sandhwan Unveils Rs 1.18 Crore Worth School Projects in Faridkot Under Education Campaign

Kotkapura (Punjab), April 15, 2025: Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Tuesday inaugurated development works worth ₹1.18 crore at three government schools in the Kotkapura constituency. The projects, part of the “Punjab Sikhya Kranti” initiative, were launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Sandhwan credited the educational reforms to the vision of CM Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, claiming government schools in Punjab are now drawing students away from private institutions. He noted that 9,000 students have shifted to government schools recently and praised the state’s efforts in improving educational infrastructure.

The Speaker highlighted that 12,316 teachers were regularized last year and 10,487 new educators were appointed.

In Duareyana, projects worth ₹16 lakh were inaugurated at the Government Primary School, including amenities for special needs children, improved sanitation, a mid-day meal shed, and interactive learning aids.

In Vandar Jatana, development works of ₹62 lakh included new classrooms, a basketball court, and infrastructure upgrades.

At Wara Daraka, ₹40 lakh was spent on building a science lab, computer lab, school park, and repairing key facilities.

District Education Officer Neelam Rani also attended the event.
