Sidhu Steps In as Punjab Congress Turmoil Deepens, Seeks Meeting With Priyanka Gandhi

Chandigarh, December 11, 2025— The internal unrest in the Punjab Congress has intensified with former state president Navjot Singh Sidhu now stepping into the controversy. Following the uproar over his wife Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu’s recent remarks, Sidhu has requested a meeting with Priyanka Gandhi. He wants to present his side before the party high command takes any action.

Meanwhile, the Congress high command has set up a high-level committee to investigate Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu’s alleged statement involving ₹500 crore and the Chief Minister. The panel will be headed by Punjab in-charge Bhupesh Baghel, though the names of other members have not yet been disclosed. The high command has taken a strict stance on the issue and has sought a detailed report from Baghel.

With the 2027 Assembly elections approaching, the controversy has caused concern at the top levels of the party.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, however, has remained silent publicly. Reports surfaced about his visit to Amritsar and a possible trip to Mumbai, but he did not appear before the media. Known for his outspoken presence on social media, Sidhu has surprisingly chosen to remain quiet on this matter.
