Mumbai, February 16 – When it comes to legendary voices in Hindi cinema, the name Shabbir Kumar stands tall. Having delivered chartbusters in blockbuster films like Coolie, Betaab, Teri Meharbaniyan, Pyar Jhukta Nahin, and Mard, his voice continues to hold a special place in Bollywood. Today, under the direction of producer-director Ejaz Ahmed, Shabbir Kumar recorded a new song, Aisa Apna Yaarana, at Alka Yagnik’s recording studio.
Written by Ahmed Siddiqui and composed by music director Deen Mohammad, this duet song features Shabbir Kumar alongside Dr. Faheem. Ejaz Ahmed expressed his excitement, calling the song a gift for music lovers. He emphasized that after a long time, Bollywood is bringing back a song celebrating friendship, a theme that has been missing from recent films. The track will soon be filmed and released.
‘Aisa Apna Yaarana’ is set to premiere on the 7 Heaven Music channel. Speaking about the song, Shabbir Kumar noted that friendship-themed songs have become rare in today’s industry. He recalled how classic films like Yaarana used to feature iconic friendship songs. Upon hearing about this project from Ejaz Ahmed, he was eager to lend his voice, believing that the song carries a strong message of camaraderie.
Shabbir Kumar has often been hailed as the voice of Mohammed Rafi. Originally, the songs of Coolie were meant to be sung by Rafi, but after his passing, director Manmohan Desai sought a voice that could match his legendary tone. That’s when Shabbir Kumar recorded Hajj Ka Mahina, and from there, his career skyrocketed, making him a signature voice for Amitabh Bachchan’s films.
With Aisa Apna Yaarana, Shabbir Kumar once again proves that melody and emotions never fade, bringing back the golden era of friendship songs in Bollywood.
