Sardar Patel’s Vision of ‘One India’ Still Beats in Every Heart: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Fatehabad, October 31 — On the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’ event in Fatehabad on Friday to mark National Unity Day. The Chief Minister showered flowers on participants and joined the marathon himself, spreading the message of unity and national integrity.

Over 30,000 people, including youth, women, sportspersons, students, social workers, and public representatives, enthusiastically participated in the run from the Panchayat Bhawan to the MM College Ground. Holding the Tricolour in their hands, the participants filled the streets with the slogan “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” On this occasion, the Chief Minister also administered an oath to stay away from drugs.

Speaking at the event, CM Saini said National Unity Day symbolizes the strength and soul of the nation. He recalled the visionary leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose courage and foresight united India after independence. Extending his greetings to the people of Haryana, he said Patel’s ideals continue to inspire generations.

Saini described ‘Run for Unity’ as more than just a fitness event — a symbolic ritual connecting the entire nation through discipline, responsibility, and collective spirit. He emphasized that millions of citizens across Haryana participated in similar events to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”

Highlighting the government’s commitment to national unity, the Chief Minister praised PM Modi’s historic decision to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a step aligned with Sardar Patel’s dream of “One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag.”

Saini added that the massive turnout in Fatehabad reflected the patriotism and enthusiasm of the people, proving that Sardar Patel’s dream of a united India still lives in every heart. “Our diversity is our true strength,” he said. “Despite differences in languages, traditions, and cultures, we remain one in spirit.” He urged the youth to carry forward the torch of unity and integrity.

Calling Sardar Patel the “Architect of National Unity,” Saini recalled how Patel, as India’s first Home Minister, integrated 562 princely states into one nation, laying the foundation of modern India.

The Chief Minister also extended greetings for Haryana Day (November 1), saying that the state’s people embody hard work, courage, and solidarity — values that represent a true tribute to Sardar Patel’s legacy.

The event was attended by former MLA Dura Ram, IG Pankaj Nain, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vivek Bharti, SP Siddhant Jain, Chairman Bharat Bhushan Midha, Surender Arya, Zila Parishad Chairperson Suman Khichar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anurag Dhalia, SDM Akash Sharma, and BJP District President Praveen Joda.
