Patiala: Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanour legislator, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, was arrested in an old case that has resurfaced. The matter reportedly pertains to allegations linked to his previous marriage.
Earlier in the day, Pathanmajra claimed that a rape case had been registered against him and appealed to his supporters to march towards the offices of the SSP and DC in protest. He maintained that the charges were an attempt to target him.
According to Pathanmajra, the police have registered a case against him under Section 376 of the IPC.
He was arrested in Haryana. His arrest came after his security cover was removed days after he raised his voice against the Delhi leadership of the party.
The MLA, who has lately expressed discontent with certain decisions of his own party, finds himself in the spotlight once again, this time over personal and legal troubles.
