Samay Raina Unable to Appear Before Maharashtra Cyber Cell, Cites Travel Abroad

Maharashtra (National Times): Comedian Samay Raina will not be able to appear before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on February 17, as directed in a second summons issued to him.

His lawyer informed the authorities that Raina is currently in the U.S. and will only return on March 17. The Cyber Cell is investigating Raina’s role in the India’s Got Latent controversy, which stemmed from offensive remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia on the show.

The summons was part of an ongoing inquiry into the matter, following an uproar from various groups condemning the show’s content. With Raina’s absence, the authorities may now consider further legal action or wait for his return to continue the probe.

Meanwhile, the debate over digital content responsibility continues, with calls for stronger regulation and censorship on streaming platforms and social media.
