New Delhi, February 17, 2025 – YouTuber Samay Raina and social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija are set to appear before the National Commission for Women (NCW) via video conferencing on Monday. The summons follow the ongoing controversy surrounding an episode of Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’, which featured podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia and sparked massive backlash.
NCW Summons Over Controversial Remarks
The NCW issued summons on February 11, after the Maharashtra Police filed a case over inappropriate jokes made during the episode. The controversy has led to multiple FIRs in Mumbai and Guwahati, prompting the panel’s investigation.
Apart from Raina and Mukhija, comedian Jaspreet Singh, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, and the show’s producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra have also been summoned for questioning. Ranveer Allahbadia, best known for his YouTube channel BeerBiceps, has yet to respond to the summons.
Episode Deleted, Raina Apologizes
The issue gained traction after Allahbadia’s comments triggered outrage on social media. The viral episode was later removed from YouTube by Samay Raina, who has since expressed regret. “This has been too much for me to handle. I will fully cooperate with authorities,” he posted.
Allahbadia Seeks SC Intervention
Ranveer Allahbadia has approached the Supreme Court, requesting the consolidation of multiple FIRs against him. He publicly apologized, acknowledging the harm caused by his remarks. In a social media post, he also revealed receiving death threats amid the controversy.
Apoorva Mukhija Already Questioned
Apoorva Mukhija, known for her bold social media presence, has already recorded her statement with the Mumbai Police. Often referred to as the “Rebel Kid,” she has assured full cooperation with the investigation.
