Rs 20 Lakh Bounty Declared for Pahalgam Terrorists as Posters Flood South Kashmir

Pahalgam (National Times): A major crackdown has been launched by Jammu and Kashmir security agencies in the aftermath of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, with posters of the three main suspects now appearing across South Kashmir’s Shopian and adjoining districts.

The wanted posters, which feature photographs of the three terrorists, offer a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh for credible information leading to their capture or killing. The suspects — Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha — are said to be Pakistan-based militants, with previous involvement in terror activities in the Poonch region.

A clear message accompanies the posters: “Kashmir stands united against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.” Officials stress that informants’ identities will be protected to encourage cooperation.

On April 22, terrorists attacked a group of tourists in Pahalgam, killing 26 people, including foreign nationals, in a bloodbath reminiscent of the Pulwama attack. The shadow group TRF, believed to be operating under the umbrella of Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility.

The horrific attack prompted India to respond with Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7. In a carefully calibrated offensive, the Indian Air Force and other military arms struck nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, avoiding civilian casualties while delivering a powerful message.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi later revealed that these strikes included well-known terror hubs like Bahawalpur and Muridke, connected to past global attacks.
