Road Closures and Safety Measures Announced Ahead of 2025 Calgary Stampede Parade

Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): As the city prepares for one of its most iconic events, Calgary officials have announced essential road closures and public safety measures ahead of the 2025 Calgary Stampede Parade, scheduled to commence on Friday, July 4, 2025.
According to the City of Calgary, roads along the parade route will be closed starting at 7:30 a.m. sharp and will remain shut until 2:00 p.m., or until the last participant has completed the route. “No vehicles will be allowed on the parade route during the closure window,” city officials emphasized. “This is for everyone’s safety, including parade participants, spectators, and staff.”
Residents and visitors are being urged to plan ahead: Road closures begin at 7:30 a.m. No vehicle access along the parade route until after 2 p.m. Avoid parking in lots or parkades that exit onto closed streets vehicles will be stuck until roads reopen.

The Calgary Stampede Parade is one of the city’s most anticipated events, drawing tens of thousands of attendees from across Canada and around the world. With floats, marching bands, equestrian displays, and cultural showcases, the parade serves as a vibrant representation of Alberta’s Western legacy.
City officials are urging all attendees to plan ahead, arrive early, and use public transit where possible to avoid congestion. The Stampede Parade draws thousands of spectators each year and kicks off Calgary’s signature 10-day celebration of Western heritage and culture.
