National Times Bureau :- Floodwaters from the swelling Ravi River have created havoc in several villages under the Dinanagar Assembly constituency, including Makora Pattan, over the past two to three days. Rising water levels have inundated agricultural land and residential areas, triggering a flood-like situation and causing distress among local residents.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the affected border belt on Wednesday to assess the situation and interact with the people. His visit began in Behrampur town; however, heavy water flow prevented him from advancing further to the severely hit villages.
Addressing the residents gathered at the site, the Chief Minister assured that the Punjab government is fully committed to safeguarding lives and property in the flood-affected zones. He instructed district officials to intensify relief operations and ensure that no affected family is left without support. Compensation for losses caused by the floods has already been announced by the state.
Mann attributed the flooding to continuous rainfall in neighboring hill states and said the government is closely monitoring the situation. He urged people to remain calm and avoid panic while the administration continues its relief and rescue work.
Large contingents of local administration officials and representatives of the Aam Aadmi Party accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit, as emergency teams were deployed to oversee ongoing operations.
