Los Angeles (Rajeev Sharma) — International pop icon Rihanna and her young family are reportedly safe after a female assailant opened fire on her Beverly Hills mansion on Sunday afternoon. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to reports of multiple gunshots at the Beverly Crest property around 1:15 p.m. on March 8, 2026. While the singer was present inside the residence during the assault, officials confirmed that no injuries were sustained by the artist, her partner A$AP Rocky, or their three children.
Witness accounts and preliminary investigations suggest the suspect arrived at the colonial-style estate in a white Tesla, parking directly across from the main security gates. The woman allegedly discharged between seven and ten rounds from an AR-15-style rifle toward the home before fleeing the scene at high speed. Forensic teams later identified several bullet impacts on the property’s security gate, and at least one high-velocity round was found to have penetrated an exterior wall of the house.
The LAPD’s rapid response led to the suspect’s apprehension shortly after the shooting. Officers tracked the vehicle to the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping centre, located approximately eight miles from the crime scene, where the 30-year-old woman was taken into custody without further violence. A high-powered rifle matching the description of the weapon used in the attack was recovered from the vehicle. The case has since been assigned to the Robbery-Homicide Division as detectives work to uncover a potential motive or any prior connection between the suspect and the Grammy-winning artist.
The area surrounding the estate remained under police cordon late into the evening while investigators processed the site for ballistic evidence. Although a spokesperson for the family has yet to issue a formal statement, sources close to the couple indicate they are deeply shaken but physically unharmed. The suspect remains in detention as prosecutors weigh charges related to assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling.
