Reliance Launches Comprehensive Relief Operations in Flood-Hit Punjab

Amritsar, September 10, 2025: Reliance Industries has stepped up with a large-scale humanitarian response to assist flood-hit communities in Punjab, focusing on worst-affected areas in Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi.

The company said its teams are working closely with the state administration, panchayats, and local stakeholders to deliver urgent aid. “Our hearts go out to the people of Punjab in this hour of suffering. Families have lost homes, livelihoods, and security. The Reliance family stands with them, providing food, water, shelter, and care for both people and animals. This ten-point plan reflects our belief that We Care,” said Anant Ambani, Director, Reliance Industries Limited.

Under its relief plan, Reliance is mobilising dry ration kits for 10,000 affected families and offering voucher-based assistance of ₹5,000 each to 1,000 of the most vulnerable households, including those led by single women and elderly members. Community kitchens are being supported with ration supplies, while portable water filters are deployed in waterlogged villages to ensure safe drinking water. Displaced families are also receiving emergency shelter kits—tarpaulins, mosquito nets, bedding, and ropes—along with sanitation kits and hygiene essentials.

Livestock support has been prioritised amid reports of widespread animal distress. Reliance Foundation and Vantara, in partnership with the Animal Husbandry Department, have set up veterinary camps to provide medicines, vaccines, and treatment. Around 3,000 silage bundles are being distributed for nearly 5,000 cattle. Vantara’s 50-member expert team is treating rescued animals, overseeing safe cremation of livestock, and working to prevent disease outbreaks.

Reliance teams are operating round-the-clock in coordination with district authorities to deliver relief while planning recovery measures. Jio engineers have restored network services in flood-hit areas, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for both residents and rescue operations. Reliance Retail, alongside volunteers, is distributing curated ration and sanitation kits with 21 essential items to identified communities.

“In this moment of crisis, Reliance is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Punjab, taking collective action with care and compassion to enable the state’s recovery,” the Reliance Foundation statement added.
