Reliance Industries Rolls Out 10-Point Relief Plan for Punjab Flood Victims

National Times Bureau :- In the wake of the devastating floods that have hit Punjab, Reliance Industries Limited has announced a large-scale humanitarian relief initiative to support affected communities. The effort, spearheaded by Reliance Foundation, Vantara, Reliance Retail, and Jio, is extending urgent aid to more than 10,000 families across some of the worst-hit villages in Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi.

Anant Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries, expressed solidarity with the victims: “Our heart goes out to the people of Punjab in this hour of suffering. Families have lost homes, livelihoods, and a sense of security. The entire Reliance family is standing with them — providing food, water, shelter kits, and care for both people and animals. We are committed to walk alongside Punjab through this difficult time.”

Key Highlights of the 10-Point Relief Mission:

  • Nutrition Assistance: Reliance is distributing dry ration kits to 10,000 families, while an additional 1,000 vulnerable households — including those headed by single women and the elderly — are receiving Rs 5,000 voucher-based aid. Community kitchens are also being supplied with ration, and portable water filters are being installed in waterlogged areas.
  • Shelter Aid: Families displaced by the floods are being provided with emergency shelter kits, including tarpaulins, mosquito nets, ropes, groundsheets, and bedding.
  • Health & Sanitation: To curb post-flood disease outbreaks, health awareness drives are underway. Water sources are being disinfected, and every affected household is receiving sanitation kits containing hygiene essentials.
  • Livestock Care: With livestock facing severe distress, Reliance Foundation and Vantara, in coordination with the Animal Husbandry Department, are providing medicines, vaccines, and emergency care. Over 3,000 silage bundles are being distributed for nearly 5,000 cattle. A 50-member Vantara team is engaged in animal rescue, treatment, and dignified cremation of deceased livestock to prevent disease.

Reliance teams are working in close coordination with district administrations, panchayats, and the Animal Husbandry Department to deliver immediate relief while laying the groundwork for medium-term recovery. Meanwhile, Jio has partnered with NDRF teams to restore network connectivity in the affected regions, ensuring uninterrupted communication for relief operations.
